Andreas Roth's life, like the lives of so many of the time, was greatly changed by the coming of World War II. Hitler's rise to power caused Andreas, now over age 60, to leave his native Germany in the mid-1930's. Having been an established landscape artist of the mountain scenery of Southern Germany, Andreas came to Los Angeles and worked to reestablish his painting career. In California, he painted sea coasts and desert scenes. He also visited and created works of the Lake Louise region in the Canadian Rockies. He is exhibited at the Orange County Museum.
