Wayne Lacom was born in Glendale, CA and grew up studying art in Southern California at the Chouinard Art Institute and the Jepson Art Institute, working with Hardie Gramatky, Watson Cross, Rico Lebrun, and |

Stanton MacDonald-Wright. Along with Hardie Gramatky, he produced art for the war effort. After the war, he worked for a brief time in commercial art in New York, but by the late 1940's was back home in California. Over his thirty year career in art, he taught, worked as a graphic designer, and operated his own gallery in Encino. He was prominent among the post WWII artists in the California Style Watercolor Movement. His favored |
