Edward Leo Forbes grew up in the Missouri Ozarks. When he came to California, he painted mountain landscapes in the Palm Springs region. He studied with Emerson Lewis, Bennett Bradbury, and Wilton McCoy. He was a member of the Palm Springs Desert Art Center.
