This precious 19th Century painting is rendered in fine detail on linen or other thin fabric. A slight crack is patched and repaired in the upper left sky, and the paint surface has been cleaned and restored. The inner bands of the old frame are in surprisingly good condition. Velvet ribbon now replaces whatever surface may have existed on the outer band, now lost. There is some frame scuff concealed at the bottom edge. There is no signature or way to guess the identity of the artist.
